04 / Recorded clicks & three different rates
The full 46.8-second recording is embedded for comparison. Simulation uses 24 isolated 14 ms transients selected from it, with zero-ended fades, low-frequency cleanup, optional treble lift, and bounded overlapping peaks. No long sample loop or once-per-second event reset is used.
r = rpm / 60
Pole passes per moving magnet = nStationary × r
Total pair encounters = nOuter × nInner × r
Representative click rate = r × Σ slotWeight
slotWeight = occupancy × stationary coverage × polarity weight × travel activation
At 150 rpm with all 28 inner magnets, one outer magnet still passes 70 poles/s. All 28 outer magnets give 1,960 pair encounters/s, many simultaneous. The listening model represents a layout with separate short clicks: full 28 S gives 70 clicks/s and 9 S gives 22.5 clicks/s at the default travel and strength. These are rendering rates, not a measured collision count, pitch, or loudness. Dense output is smoothly thinned above 110 clicks/s.
Polarity weights (1.00 attraction, 0.82 repulsion), travel activation, and the drag-to-loudness mapping are adjustable-model assumptions, not measured material laws. Drag and smoothness influence click energy and timing variation; empty slots create gaps.
